My 4th of July started out to be a wonderful day on the Mall at Washington D. C. We left our hotel room early and rode the train from Baltimore to D. C. When we arrived we walked up and down the Mall veiwing all the different sites from the country of Butah. When we headed toward the White House the line was too, long for us to get in for the concert ao we walked to the other end of the Mall to watch the fireworks up close by the Washington Momunent. We found a wonderful place for veiwing but then it began to rain. We stood under a blanket that another couple provided until the rain was flowing right through it. It was still another half hour until the fireworks, it was raining hard, and we were soaked so we left.
We ended up back at our hotel room by the time PBS ran the fireworks on tv. Watching on tv is not the same but we were dry!
